     • Focus on function over form, initially

     • Identify the strategic impact early, not focusing too heavily on tactical

     • Zoom out to identify principles involved

     • Focus on so what?

  3. What would you advise the next group of Army Fellows?

• • Style and structure earlier

  • Select topic early, do background reading and refining, self educate about topic

  • Build networking early

• 1. What is the central issue/problem your CRP will address? What is your research question?

  2. Will your paper present and evaluate options to solve a problem?

  3. How will you complete your analysis/evaluation?

Resume

• 1. What is your plan of research-writing execution over the holidays? Set specific goals.

     • Jay will have a draft when school begins in January.

     • Pia will have umbrella statements for each topic in her outline.

  2. What are the biggest challenges?

     • Not providing too much detail. Make it count! Brevity of thought, avoid overcomplicating the message.

     • Evaluation criteria for assessing options/solutions.
