Mary Foy was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was the youngest of five children. She worked as a secretary at Blatz Brewery until a friend convinced her to tag along to Chicago for a stewardess audition with TWA. TWA did not hire her friend but hired Mary on the spot. She lived in Chicago and traveled the world. She met her husband on a blind date and married him three months later. She raised three children in Louisville, Kentucky. She enjoyed ice skating and continued to travel the world throughout her life. She started painting late in life after she raised her children. Her favorite subjects to paint were of the places she traveled. She painted until her death at the age of 70 in 1998. Mary Foy was Tamara Foy Wilborn’s mother.
