Naikoa Aguilar : Dr. Aguilar-Amuchastegui, known as Naikoa to his teammates, is WWF’s Senior Forest Carbon Scientist and is focused on solidifying and expanding WWF’s science role in REDD+, forest carbon measurement and monitoring, and working closely with WWF’s global Forest Carbon Initiative as lead on measuring, reporting and verifying (MRV) of REDD+ activities and building MRV capacity in the field and with REDD+ partners.

Juan Sebastian Barreto Silva :Magister of Forests and Environmental Conservation. I have worked mainly in the Colombian

Amazon doing activities such as forest inventories, establishment of permanent plots for the study and monitoring of vegetation within thematic areas of Botany and Ecology. I'm currently linked to Instituto Amazónico de Investigaciones Científicas Sinchi as associate researcher.

Fabian Enssle: 1999-2002 I did an apprenticeship as qualified land surveyor and studied from the end of 2003 until the end of 2009 science of forestry at the University of Freiburg, Germany.During the studies I did some intern ships as well I was working as Freelancer in the remote sensing and GIS section. At the end of 2011 I enrolled as PhD student at the University of Freiburg.Main interest is in space-borne LiDAR and spectral image processing for the use of mapping above ground biomass of forested areas.

I received my PhD in Physical Methods for Remote Sensing from the University of Versailles-St Quentin, France, in 2001. I am originally a Polar researcher with a strong background in sea ice and active microwave remote sensing, having worked for the Norwegian Polar Institute, and the American and Norwegian operational ice services. I am with Norut since 2005, and because of my strong interest for sustainable development, I was keen to work on tropical forest monitoring for REDD+/MRV since 2008 using mainly synthetic aperture radar. I only started recently to use also unmanned/remotely controlled aerial systems for this purpose.

Tuomas Häme:

Tuomas Häme is a Doctor of Science in Agriculture and Forestry, who prepared his doctoral dissertation on forest

sciences at the University of Helsinki. He holds a Research Professorship at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland on Earth observation techniques. Dr. Häme’s research focuses on satellite remote sensing of forests. He is a member of the European Space Agency ESA's Sentinel-2 Mission Advisory Group, and the Finnish delegate in the ESA's remote sensing science and technology group.

Alicia Peduzzi:

Is a Research Forester at the Forest Inventory and Analysis group part of the U.S. Forest Service. Her research

interests are remote sensing applications to forestry. During her graduate programs, she worked with estimating Leaf Area Index using optical, laser, and radar remote sensing technologies in temperate mixed forests as well as in pine plantations. Currently, she is working with a growth and yield model (Forest Vegetation Simulator, FVS) to simulate forest growth and carbon trajectories after disturbance using national inventory data.
