Research interests

My research is geared around water, environmental biotechnology. More or less in function of my research interests the following classifications can be formulated in function of researches conducted by me:

  • Environmental biotechnology:
    • Biological wastewater treatment
    • Bio-aggregates structural analysis, CLSM, SEM and Optical microscopy
    • Mathematical modelling of biological wastewater treatment (ASM3, MatLab and STOAT)
    • Microbial community analysis in wastewater treatment i.e. Biolog Ecoplate etc...
  • Environmental monitoring:
    • Chemical analysis of water bodies, anthropogenic pollution monitoring and control
  • Water management and water network analysis:
    • Water balance
    • Domestic water meter intrinsic error analysis
    • Water supply network modeling
    • Non-revenue water loss analysis

  • 700 m3/d flow municipal wastewater treatment plant optimization for organic matter removal and nitrification, Yahuarcocha Wastewater treatment plant, Ibarra, Ecuador, 2014;
  • 2250 m3/d flow water treatment plant technology setup for iron removal (8-9 mg/L) with combined chemical and physical treatment, Tanguarine water treatment plant, Ibarra, Ecuador, 2014;
  • 864 m3/d flow municipal wastewater treatment foaming problem analysis and solution, Chaltura wastewater treatment plant, Atuntaqui, Ecuador, 2014;
  • 700 m3/d flow leachate wastewater SBR treatment process biodegradability study in a lab scale SBR system, to optimize the treatment system of a regional landfill site, AVE Romania;
