Greenways Project

Cambridgeshire County Council have funded a pilot Greenways Project to improve the off-road network across the whole county.  The pilot, carried out by a cycling consultancy, identified many potential new routes across Cambridgeshire.   SDBA are working with the County Council and partners to ensure horse riding provision is included in any new routes.

As a result of the project, the County Council have just announced funding of circa £450,000 to create the first tranche of new Greenways which will be routes into/out of Cambridge for non-motorised users (walkers, cyclists, equestrians).   SDBA has attended some of these consultations and continues to ask that these "spokes" need joining-up with a "rim" so that people can travel around Cambridge, not just in radial mode in and out of Cambridge. Not everybody wants to go to Cambridge city!
