SSHOA Annual HOTY, Pony, Junior, Young Rider point score
For Juniors, Young Riders and Seniors, points are accumulated as follows in each level of competition. For Junior and Young Rider Champion each year – Juniors and Young Riders are scored separately in all competitions, Champion Pony is scored separately in all competitions. If there is an equal Champion, the November Championship competitions are weighted 1 point.
For all HOTY & Pony Champions
1st - 8 points
2nd - 6 points
3rd - 4 points
4th - 3 points
5th - 2 points
6th - 1 point (there are no points allocated after 6th place)
With equal placings the points are shared.
eg. if 2 people place equal 1st and they share the points from 1st and 2nd place (8 points + 6 points = 14 points, divided by 2 people = 7 points each). The next placing would be 3rd place, so this horse/rider would receive 4 points. Similarly if 3 people shared 1st place then they would share the points from 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (8 + 6 + 4 = 18 points, divided by 3 people = 6 points each). The next placing would be 4th place, so this horse/rider would receive 3 points etc.
Gold & Silver Medals & Special Awards 2016
Gold & Silver medals will be awarded for all EA tests from Preparatory to Intermediate I as follows:
Gold Medals – 3 performances of 65% or more at any level from Preliminary to Intermediate I.
Silver Medals – 3 performances of 60% or more at any level from Preliminary to Intermediate I.
All special awards will be finalised on November Championship Day.

Juniors are scored separately on all tests from March to November for this special award.
