Su Qi has attended Interharmony International Music Festival at Italy with Professor Liao in 2013 and participated in a master class presented by pianist, Marian Hahn. In 2016, she attended Euro Music Festival in Germany in summer and studies with Roland Kruger and Bernd Goetzke.

Su Qi began her music studies at age 17, receiving training in Malaysia, Taipei, and the United States. After two years of study, in 2010 she achieved The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 with merit. She also was awarded Trinity Guildhall Advanced Level Graded Examination in Music Literacy Grade 6 Theory of Music with merit. In 2011, she studied at the University of Taipei with Pei-Chun, Liao and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Taiwan. In 2015, she accepted a high scholarship from the University of Wyoming to study with Dr. Chi-Chen Wu, to earn her Performance Certificate. Su Qi’s professors say that she is an exceptional student and is one of few pianists who has been able to excel even though she began her training in her teens. Being a piano student in University, she enrolled collaborative piano class for each semester and focusing work with singers. She also works with instruments players.

Su Qi has been teaching since 2009 all over the world and currently teaching at DTC, CO near Centennial, CO. Her specialty is focusing on elementary and secondary school levels. She makes lessons fun while being sure the students learn music concepts very well. Her favorite composer is J. S. Bach. He is an intelligent, influential composer and expert improviser. Bach influenced composers such as Beethoven, Haydn, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. His music looks easy but is difficult to master. Bach's music has inspired Su Qi from the beginning of her piano study and is the reason why she fell in love tithe the eighty-eight black and white keys of the piano. In the past, she's trained to teach Kindermusik classes from 2-6 years old. It helped her success in young piano students lessons and have them to learn musical concepts and piano techniques thru games. Who doesn't love game, right?

Although Su Qi did not have a complete music education before her college study, she immersed herself into her studies and became a well rounded musician. Su Qi had a passion to communicate with younger kids and developed unique ways to teach students based upon their level and personality. She knows how to approach late starting students and has the belief that anyone can learn to play. Su Qi is always honest with herself and her students, is willing to learn something new everyday, and will work hard to improve her teaching and her own playing. One of Su Qi's strongest points is the ability to balance well with the strong Asian strict culture with Western open-minded culture to create unique lessons environment. Being fluent in Mandarin and English has allowed Su Qi to understand different cultures and to relate to all types of people. These factors have allowed Su Qi to become a mature, self-motivated student and teacher. She has a strong determination to succeed in music education.
