Sun Lakes Table Tennis Club Members Come Up Big in the 2018 Arizona Senior Olympics

Sun Lakes Table Tennis Club members were out in force at the 2018 Arizona Senior Olympics. Seven men and two women brought home a total of 12 medals. Congratulations ladies and gentlemen! Table tennis in Sun Lakes is proud of our tournament winners!

Gerry Vogelsang – 85-89 division: Silver in men’s singles

Gerry Vogelsang and Ken Nichols – 80-84 division: Silver in men’s doubles

Ken Nichols – 80-84 division: Gold in men’s singles

Steve Chambers and Alan Behr – 70-74 division: Silver in men’s doubles

David Novikoff and David Zapatka – 65-69 division: Bronze in men’s doubles

David Novikoff and Ophelia Shelton – 65-69 division: Silver in mixed doubles

David Zapatka and Melissa Myers – 55-59 division: Silver in mixed doubles

Melissa Myers – 55-59 division: Gold in women’s singles

SLTTC club president June Wagner, the energy and glue who holds our wonderful club together, with Ken Nichols competed valiantly in the 75-79 mixed doubles competition. Twice they were on the verge of winning and were upset in deuce games just missing out on a medal.
