Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will take place on the evening of Monday 1st August from 6 p.m. in the 1st Floor Restaurant, Charles Wilson Building overlooking Leicestershire's Victoria Park.  The Restaurant is located at the centre of the University Campus. There will be a buffet and a cash bar.  The Welcome Reception will give delegates the opportunity to meet in a relaxed atmosphere.

The cost of the Welcome Reception will be included in the delegate fee.

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will be held on Thursday 4th August at 7 p.m., again in the 1st Floor Restaurant, Charles Wilson Building.  This event is optional and comprises a formal, seated dinner and a cash bar.  The bar will be open from 6 p.m.  There is a limit of 150 for this event due to the venue size and so this will be offered on a first come first served basis

The cost of the Conference Dinner is £44.80, which includes a welcome drink.

Richard III Experience

Wednesday 3rd August from 5.30 p.m.

Leicester is perhaps best known for the discovery of the remains of King Richard III by the University of Leicester in collaboration with Richard III Society and Leicester City Council. 

This optional visit to the King Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester City Centre will give an opportunity to find out more about the intriguing story of this misunderstood King.  The Visitor Centre is one of the Smithsonian's 21st Century Life List: 25 Great New Places to See . 

This will be followed by an informal buffet at the centre with a cash bar.

The centre is located in the centre of Leicester a short distance from the University Campus, either a 1.5 mile walk or a 20 minute bus journey.

Leicester is the tenth largest city In Britain, situated at the heart of the East Midlands.  In the city centre, attractions include a range of excellent free museums and art galleries, and a state-of-the-art theatre (Curve, which opened in 2008).  A short distance from the city centre is the award-winning National Space Centre, which is the largest and most modern space-related visitor attraction in Europe.
