Maps:       Aerial Map.      Street Map with Dining Locations.     The meeting takes place in Snell Hall and Ogden College Hall.  The opening reception will be in Ogden College Hall Lobby.   Housing is in the Hyatt Place (hotel) and Southwest Hall (campus housing).  

Meals:   Light lunches will be provided.  Tuesday and Friday, lunch will be in the Downing Student Union building (marked DSU on the Aerial Map), about a 12-minute walk from the meeting site.  Lunches Wednesday and Thursday will be in the meeting site, Snell Hall. 

For those staying at the Hyatt Place, please enjoy their complimentary breakfast, served on the ground floor.   

Coffee, pastries, and fruit will be available at the meeting site from 7:30 a.m.    A full breakfast buffet may be purchased in the Fresh Food Company at the Downing Student Center (DSU on the map) from 7:00-8:30 for $9.25.  Starbucks in the Downing Student Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mammoth Cave Excursion:  (Pre-purchased tickets required.) Buses load at 2:20 and depart at 2:30, in front of College High Hall, uphill from the white planetarium dome in front of Snell Hall.   Return will be around 6:45 or 7:00.

Domes and Dripstones tour.  3:45-5:45 p.m.      1.2 km (0.75 miles).  500 stair steps.   Effort: moderate.  Cave temperatures are around 14°C  (57°F). 

From the Mammoth Cave Website: “Visitors with known heart or respiratory problems, poor circulation or difficulty walking long distances and negotiating stairs, should carefully consider their limitations. Evacuation from the cave to a hospital for medical attention could take several hours.  If you have a fear of heights or suffer from claustrophobia, this tour is not the best choice for you.”

Banquet:  (Pre-purchased tickets required.)   7:30 Thursday, July 19 at Mariah’s Restaurant, second floor. (Number 11 on the map.)   A cash bar opens at 7:00. 

Parking:   If you are staying in the Hyatt Place, they have free parking in their adjacent parking structure.  Get details at check-in.

If you are staying in Campus Housing (Southwest Hall, 1587 Normal Street, directly across from the Mahurin Honors College building with a cupola), you should have purchased a parking permit at registration.  It will be issued when you check into your room.   Parking will be in the Pearce-Ford Lot on the same street as Southwest Hall, away from the meeting site, at the base of the 27-story high-rise Pearce-Ford Residence Hall.

If you are commuting, contact the organizers to purchase a parking permit for the Pearce-Ford Lot (see the paragraph above for directions).   

Gym:  For $5.30 per entry, registered participants who show their conference name-tag may use the Raymond B. Preston Health and Activities Center, with access to an indoor walking track, pool, weight room, cardio equipment, basketball courts, and racquetball courts (bring your own racquet).  Hours are 6am—8pm Monday—Friday, 9am–6pm Saturday, and 1pm—6pm Sunday.  The pool closes 30 minutes earlier, and is not available 9-11:30 and 1-3 Monday—Friday.    The Preston Center is #32 on the map https://www.wku.edu/campusmap.php.  (Southwest Hall is 43, and Snell Hall is 69).

Airport Shuttle:  If you reserved the shuttle, you should have received your seating assignments.  For the shuttles returning to the airport after the conference, please arrive for loading 10-15 minutes before the departure time given.
