I made a modified version of the pizza sauce Peter Reinhart's Artisan Breads Every Day (p. 70). It was fantastic.
Ingredients:
1 can crushed tomatoes (28oz)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper
2 tablespoons fresh basil, roughly chopped
2 teaspoon dried oregano
5 cloves pressed garlic
1 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Mix the ingredients together in a medium pot
Simmer on medium for 20-25 minutes
Ladle onto delicious pizza dough
