It is well known that vocabulary size is a major factor for success in language skills. Students should be constantly increasing their vocabulary by learning new words from texts they read, books they are reading, and targeted vocabulary provided by the teacher. 

Module E, now reflects the importance of vocabulary with the "Lexical Knowledge" section (which has replaced the spoken reception (listening) section of the exam.  Students must be taught explicitly how to deal with this part of the exam, which requires a knowledge of band 2 and 3 vocabulary words and their English definitions.
