The students must have a very sound knowledge of Computer Programming using C/C++/Fortran/MATLAB/IDL/R, Numerical Methods, Statisticsal modeling, hypothesis testing and familiarity with the Linux Operating Systems.

  • Physical Parameter Determinations of Variable Stars

  • Morphology of Galaxies using Variable Stars

  • Development of Empirical Relations between Physical Parameters and Light Curve Parameters

  • Automated Light Curve Analysis of Variable stars

  • Classification of Variable Stars with the help of Machine Learning Tools using the Light Curve data generated from various Astronomy Missions

  • Any Other Suitable Topic in Astronomy & Astrophysics or Computational Physics
