Hi! I am Dr. Sukanta Deb. Welcome to my webpage!  I am from Mariani town in the district of Jorhat, Assam. I work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Cotton University, Panbazar, Guwahati, Pin 781001, Assam.  I hold M.Sc (Physics) and PhD (Physics)  from the Department of Physics and Astrophysics (University of Delhi), Delhi, India.  I have obtained PhD (2011) in computational astronomy and astrophysics under the supervision of Prof. H. P. Singh and Prof. T. R. Seshadri (University of Delhi).  The title of the PhD thesis was: "Study of Light Curves of some Variable stars".  I did B.Sc(H) in Physics from Cotton College, Guwahati. I have a lot of  interests in computer programming and numerical simulations to solve various physical problems. Some of the interests include:  Numerical analysis using Computer,  Astronomical Photometry & Spectroscopy, Light Curve Modeling in Astronomy & Astrophysics, Monte-Carlo Methods & Simulations, Quantum Variational Monte Carlo Techniques, Automated Data Analysis, Bayesian Data Analysis (Markov Chain Monte Carlo), Machine Learning Techniques, Astronomy with Virtual Observatories (VO).
