2009 - New Year's - Procter, BC

We'd been spending New Year's Eve with our wonderful friends Bruce and Maggie for many years, so when they moved to Procter, just north of Nelson, BC, Maiken and I decided that we'd need to spend a few days with them in their winter wonderland.  I was going to drive Maiken's Golf, the car with the winter tires, but the clutch failed the day before we were to leave!  So we checked the BC Highways traffic cameras for road conditions.  Ha!  You couldn't see anything but white in all of the cams in the Kootenays!  So we decided to go south to Seattle and across I-90 to Spokane - that way looked pretty clear.

And it was a slushy, sloppy, slippery drive but we made good time to Spokane, where we found that city absolutely buried in snow.  They'd had a record six feet something of snow and it was still all over the place.
