"Investitor zgrade pored koje stojimo (26.08.2019) je bilo italijansko ministarstvo spoljnih poslova, a arhitekta čuveni Florestino di Fausto.Izgrađena je između 1924 i 1926.godine u strmoj Birčaninovoj ulici.Uticaj "ređine Elene", italijanske kraljice Jelene Petrović od Savoja učino je da ambasada i rezidencija u Beogradu budu prvo od 17 diplomatskih predstavništava Italije koje je Di Fausto projektovao.
Jelena Petrović od Savoja bila ćerka kralja Nikole Petrovića Njegoša i tetka srpskog kralja Aleksandra Karađorđevića.
Napuljski princ,Vitorio Emanuele III naslednik prestola italije, Jelenu Petrović je upoznao na krunisanju Nikolaja II Romanova.
Jelena od Savoje stekla je poštovanje italijanskog naroda skromnošću i prihvatanjem katoličanstva. U katoličku veru prešla je u Crkvi Svetog Nikole u Bariju.
Imali su petoro dece.
Glavni salon italijanske ambasade ukrašen je portretom kraljice Jelene a svi lusteri su od Murano stakla."

"The investor of the building next to which we stand (August 26, 2019) was the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the architect was the famous Florestino di, Fausto. It was built between 1924 and 1926 in the steep Birčaninova Street. The embassy and residence in Belgrade are the first of 17 Italian diplomatic missions designed by Di Fausto.
