AEMB Undergraduate Research Panel 2020

Science research is a valuable and practical experience that applies the knowledge that you have learned in your courses. The issue is finding these great opportunities and reaching out to PI’s. Our panelists, ranging in many areas of biology, chemistry, and physics, have gone through this process and are well informed. Our AEMB event gives you the opportunity to ask questions about anything and everything science research at Stony Brook University.

Offering this event to BME and other biology-related undergraduates hopes to target and educate underclassmen, but are open to juniors and seniors, about scientific research. Here, you can expect to learn about the time commitment of the lab, the thought process behind creating novel ideas, and most importantly getting into your desired lab. We hope to see and help you!

This event features four BME faculty members: Dr. Yi-Xin Qin (Department Chair), Dr. David Rubenstein (Graduate Program Director), Dr. Ete Chan and Dr. Hassan Arbab.

ECGSIM

By offering this event, AEMB hopes to educate freshmen and sophomore BME students (and any other interested undergraduate students) who have yet to take bioelectricity courses as part of their coursework so that this event will function as a crash course in the electrophysiology of the heart and ECG analysis. Thus, by attending this event, undergraduate students will be better prepared for future courses that focus on analyzing the bioelectricity of the heart.

Free Your Ears For Credit

Are you irritated by the prolonged wearing of your face masks throughout the day? If you are, then you should participate in the new AEMB virtual event “Free Your Ears!!!”.
