Main E-Board
Caitlin is a current undergraduate senior in BME with a concentration in biomechanics and biomaterials. She is completing the accelerated BE/MS program and will pursue a PhD. She is currently a member of the university's Honors College, a member of Tau Beta Pi, and completing an Honors Thesis in Dr. Qin’s lab.
Norah is currently a senior WISE honors student in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in the Biomechanics and Biomaterials track. She works in Dr. Enikolopov’s neurobiological lab on campus, studying the role of nitric oxide in regulating ciliary cell polarity, beat frequency, and directional flow in the brains of mice. Norah intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering next year.
Leanne is a junior in BME with a concentration in Cellular and Molecular Engineering. Working with Dr. Wei Yin and other students in her lab, Leanne works on an elderly fall prevention project. Additionally, Leanne is a Simons STEM Scholar, a member of Tau Beta Pi, and a CEAS Peer Mentor.
Anosuya is a senior undergraduate student in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-med track, with a concentration in cellular and tissue engineering. She is currently conducting research in Dr. Yin’s lab, where she investigates thrombosis in the right and left coronary arteries to support clinical decision-making for coronary artery blockages. This work also serves as the foundation for her Honors Thesis.
Extended E-Board
Andrew is a senior in Biomedical Engineering with interests in medical device design, prototyping, and applied research. He works in Dr. Yin’s lab, where he has contributed to projects including a fall-prevention device with an active intellectual property filing, a low-cost CO₂ monitoring system for medical use in Africa, and an expandable ECMO dilator for improved clinical procedures. He has also researched coagulation detection methods and presented his work at the NYC Innovation Hot Spot Network Meeting.
Nadia is a junior in BME, on the cellular and molecular engineering track. She works in the Balazsi lab working on genetic engineering projects, and also does bio-printing with the VIP Tissue Engineering Kidneys team. Nadia is also a member of the campus emergency response team, and a chair for BMES.
Berna is a junior in BME on the cellular and molecular engineering track. She has been working in Dr. Sunar’s lab for over a year now, evaluating the therapeutic potential of photodynamic therapy in two human cancer models, aiming to advance the research into in vivo studies soon.
Nina is a junior in Biomedical Engineering on the Biomechanics and Biomaterials track. She works in Dr. Zhu’s Engineering Driven Medicine lab on campus, studying therapeutic organoid and assembloid applications towards the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, Nina is a WISE honors student and a second-year freshman mentor.
Alvin is a junior in BME on the bioelectricity and bioimaging track.
