Executive Board Positions
President: The President shall conduct the meeting, sign Board correspondence, be a signatory on checks and represent the PTC at official functions. The President shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the PTC, appoint chairpersons and perform such duties as may be prescribed in the bylaws or assigned.
First Vice President: The First Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President , attend district meeting with Second Vice President if the President cannot attend. In the event that the President resigns his/her position, the First Vice President shall become the President.
Second Vice President: The Second Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President and First Vice President, attend district meeting with First Vice President if the President cannot attend. In the event that the President resigns his/her position and the First Vice President declines the position, the Second Vice President shall become the President. Second Vice President shall also collect Volunteer forms from beginning of the year and create a summary sheet of volunteers for each event, as well as creating the Class Rosters and/or Parent Directory.
Secretary: The Secretary provides clerical support to the Board. Duties include taking meeting minutes, distribution of meeting minutes, agendas and other correspondence and storage of all Board meeting documents. The Secretary shall note attendance and determine if a quorum is present. The Secretary shall also keep copies of PTC flyers and correspondence for one year and prepare a list of unfinished business for the President each month. The Secretary will make available to any PTC Members copies of agendas, meeting minutes and any documents distributed at Board or General Membership meetings.
Treasurer: The Treasurer will be a signature on checks and oversee the PTC’s budget. Board Members and General Members shall have access to all financial documents within a month of their written request to the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall receive and deposit all money into the PTC account, retain deposit slips, pay bills as authorized by the PTC, present a monthly financial report at every General and board meeting, keep an accurate account of income and expenses, keep all records for seven years, make arrangements for an annual audit, prepare or assist in the preparation of state tax forms and filing non-profit forms to the Internal Revenue Service.
School Administrator (Principal): The School Administrative Representative shall provide advice and suggestions to the Board and General Membership on matters pertaining to the school administration or the school site and its programs, services or activities.
Executive Teacher Representative: The Executive Teacher Representative shall attend all meetings. This representative shall provide advice and suggestions to the Executive Board pertaining to the teachers needs, their projects and classroom activities.
Public Relations: The Public Relations Person shall notify media of newsworthy events, including PTC sponsored activities and prepare PTC monthly newsletters.
General Board Positions
Parliamentarian: The Parliamentarian shall ensure that Roberts Rules of Order are followed at the Board and General membership meetings. Persons who refuse to abide by Roberts Rules of Order or become unruly, make threats or create disruptions shall be asked to leave. The Parliamentarian has the authority to end any PTC meeting due to unruly behavior or violence and shall immediately notify law enforcement if/when necessary.
Public Relations: The Public Relations Person shall notify media of newsworthy events, including PTC sponsored activities, prepare PTC monthly newsletters, e-news announcements and information for PTC website.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation - Organize the one time luncheon in the Fall. Decorate the staff room and organize volunteers to bring in food. This event is a huge success and in the past has had a lot of parent volunteers. Also, you would help promote staff appreciation week. Last year PTC had a sign made to hang in the front of the school. This event is typically in the Spring. Both these events have lots of parent involvement, we just need a point of contact to oversee it!
Teacher Representatives: Three (3) Teacher Representatives shall provide advice and suggestions to the Board and General Membership pertaining to the teachers needs, their projects and classroom activities. The school staff will determine, at their discretion, which Teachers will attend each meetings. Each Teacher Representative shall have one vote on the General Board.
The Year Book Chair (Appointed by Principal): Shall gather photographs and mementos of school activities for the annual year book. The Year Book Chair will arrange for the printing, delivery and sale of the yearbook.
eScrip Chair: Shall be responsible for creating and distributing fliers explaining and/or promoting the program to the parents and teachers, and adding new members.
Skate Night Chair: Shall be responsible for creating and distributing fliers explaining and/or promoting the program to the parents and teachers, and adding new members.
Book Fair Chair: Shall organize and oversee the fall and spring book fairs.
Box Tops Chair: Shall organize and oversee the fall and spring book fairs.
Art Docent Chair: Shall be responsible for representing the art docent program to Stoneridge PTC.
Online Presence Chair: Shall be responsible for the Stoneridge PTC website. PTC will be responsible for domain name registration finances. Contents will be determined and controlled by PTC officers. The website email address will be maintained and managed by this individual so that messages may be properly routed to PTC officers and members.
Ice Cream Social Chair: Coordinates volunteers and supplies and other duties required for the Ice Cream Social(s).
Carnival Chair: Coordinates volunteers and supplies and other duties required for the Carnival.
Field Day Chair: Coordinates volunteers and supplies and other duties required for Field Day. Works with the PE Teacher to organize, set up, run, and take down field day. This event is the last week of school and has had a lot of parent volunteers. We need someone to be the point of contact.
Stoneridge Literary Society - This position organizes the recognition program where some of Stoneridge's best writer enjoy lunch with the Principal. Your duties would include organizing the food. In addition you make copies of the student work to create booklets for each student. You would also hang the work in the office. It happens about 6 times throughout the year.
Enrichment - We need one person to co-chair this. Enrichment consists of handling signups for the after-school enrichment classes. These classes are offered 3 times per year.
Volunteer Coordinator - Serve as the liason between PTC and the parents in order to obtain volunteers for events. We use SignUpGenius for most of our events, so this person would oversee that by confirming signups for events. Also, coordinate school wide events between room moms in terms of Carnival Baskets, Staff Appreciation, etc.
