This Sunday, 28th June, is the fourth Sunday after Trinity or the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time, when we focus on the need to remain true to our calling to serve God, even when His demands appear too great for us to bear.
The lectionary readings for this Sunday are:
Genesis 22:1-14
Psalm 13
Romans 6:12-23
Matthew 10:40-42
Our service of Holy Communion will be at the usual time of 9.30 a.m.
If you can't come to that, or if you would like to spend time thinking about this theme, this video from 2020 provides a short act of worship that you can use at home.
Do you have any questions that you would like to put to our bishops? These could be about God, about how the diocese is run or how the team at Church House supports churches and parishes - or anything else that you would like to talk to them about.
Bishops Mark and Julie will be visiting the Frodsham Deanery on 24th and 25th June., and you are invited to meet them for worship and a Q&A session in Elton Church Hall.
Saturday 4th July at 10am
Claire Jones is very kindly holding a coffee morning at the Boshaw Centre in aid of St Luke’s. If you would like to know more about this, please contact her on 07967 229252. In the past, Claire's coffee mornings have been great community events, raising money for worthy causes. We are very grateful that she has chosen St Luke's to be the beneficiary on this occasion.
Saturday 11th July

Our regular Book Sale and Coffee Morning continue throughout 2026. Please note the dates of these not-to-be-missed events in your diary. The next one will be on Saturday 11th July.
Searching through one of the filing cabinets in the vestry turned up this interesting document from the past this. It's a newspaper produced by the Sunday School children in 2000 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the setting up of our ecumenical Sunday School back in 1990. Sadly numbers dwindled and the Sunday School closed in 2004, but we are now thinking of ways of getting children and young people involved with St Luke's again. If you have any ideas for doing this please let us know!
If you would like to read it all, you can download a PDF version of the whole newspaper.
