I submitted a FOIL request to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) for any drawn maps of Stillwater Reservoir they had on file. It only took nine days, and they came back with a good collection of five historical maps. I added them to the Paper Maps page.

The maps are:

1. Adirondack Timber and Mineral Company (1898)

2. W.M. Foss Forester Conservation Department (1931)

3. Black River Regulating District - Sheet 2 (1921)

4. Black River Regulating District - Sheet 3 (1921)

5. Black River Regulating District - Sheet 6 (1921)

They're pretty interesting maps. They show the progression through the different dams that were constructed, and highlight what land was submerged and who forfeited land in the process.
