June 11, 2019 - 107 Miles of Additional Depth Tracks

Post date: Jun 11, 2019 11:2:47 PM

Over this past weekend, three days of data collection at high water resulted in 107 miles of additional depth track data added to the project. The area southeast of Rapshaw and Hotel Islands is now complete, as well as Loon Lake. The total track collection is now at approximately 692 miles. The only holes in the map that remain equates to roughly 300 acres at the east end of the reservoir. Additional areas here and there could still use some additional tracks to improve the quality of the contours, but the map is nearing completion. I estimate less than 5% of the reservoir remains. The source data collected now totals nearly 21 GB of information.

Thanks again to Dave Childs for his tireless data collection! The time (and gas) investment on his part to collect all this data is an amazing effort! Thank you!

I've updated the vector and shaded relief depth maps, as well as the depth collection tracks in the Google Earth layers. I've also separated out the collection tracks by year, so you can see the progression over the last 5 years! The depth map MBTILE file has also been added on the main page.
