January 30, 2019 - Planet Labs Imagery

Using a free trial, I was able to gather two sets of imagery from the company Planet Labs. The imagery was from September and October of 2018, when the water was very low at 1665 feet. Unfortunately since it's from a private corporation and copyrighted, I cannot share it here on my site in mbtile format. The three meter resolution imagery didn't show any areas in the routes or hazards layers that needed to be changed. However, since it is precisely ortho-rectified, it is quite useful to help me dial in the layout of the 1952 and 1942 aerial photography, which is higher resolution. It is also nice to know that Planet Labs will be collecting a lot more imagery of the Stillwater area in the future. They have a constellation of micro-satellites that collect imagery shots for any given area several days per month, and create a monthly mosaic image that eliminates the majority of cloud cover. It gives me a place to go whenever the water reaches really low elevations again. Definitely give their website a look if you're interested.
