What is STEM education?
STEM education is the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math by the youth. It encourages us to go above and beyond with our knowledge. Through studying these subjects, it is expected that we gradually get to the point to where we not only understand, but excel in each one of the subjects. STEM education is meant to take us from limited knowledge to full comprehension of science and math. It encourages us to reach our full potential. Schools are trying to expand on their teaching of STEM in order to further develop math and science skills. This is order to make sure that today's youth is ready to go far with their studies and knowledge.

STEMSOS is a rigorous, interdisciplinary, standards-focused, and engaging STEM teaching approach that is teacher-facilitated, student-centered and directed through sets of project- and inquiry-based (P&IBL) projects. STEMSOS PBL approach is to maintain the focus on standards-based teaching while enriching and extending the learning of students through PBL projects. The goal is to promote not only collaborative skills and student ownership of learning but also to promote student success in state and national standards.
