We're an acoustic duo and song-writing team - Casey plays guitar and Minnie sings.  As Minnie Stacey and Casey, we write songs with well structured melodies and thoughtful lyrics, Casey writes all the arrangements.  We're looking for people to perform our material and maybe have hits with the songs, so if anyone is interested in choosing tracks from our songbook or looking for someone to write a song - get in touch!

Casey:  I was born in Liverpool, began learning guitar when I was sixteen, then worked as a professional musician for years.  I started out with the Dominators, a group that had topped The Beatles at The Cavern.  Later, I worked the club and ballroom circuit, backing such artists as Bruce Forsyth and Bob Monkhouse.  I also travelled abroad playing American bases in Greece and Germany, and cruised the Caribbean with a trio and then a quartet on the QE2.

After some years out of the business due to injury, I became a mature student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and graduated with a First Class degree in Community Arts/Music in 2001.  I am now retired.

Minnie Stacey:  I was also born in Liverpool.  When I was two, the family moved to North Wales where I was brought up.  Later, I returned to the city and have now lived in Liverpool for 31 years, during which time I gained a combined Hons degree in English/Drama and Theatre Arts, and a Masters in Writing from Liverpool John Moores University.  I worked in too many offices and then for a Trade Union, but am now retired.  I sometimes write articles and was also an editor for Nerve Magazine Liverpool.  One of my current aims is to publish an anthology of my poetry in the near future.

As a music duo, we started out doing an extensive range of covers not long after we met in 1998.  Performing classics by writers such as Cole Porter, Cy Coleman and Sammy Cahn inspired us to write our own songs.

Our first album ‘Just Around The Corner’ is named after its track number five, a bossa nova full of heart.  It's available at News From Nowhere Bookshop on Bold Street in Liverpool.  We've also compiled an updated album named Life Sentences

Both Casey and I  have performed Poetry on the local scene.  If you'd like to read any of our poetry, click on the individual poetry pages above.
