P&C COMMUNICATIONS AND DISCUSSION GROUPS
In 2025 there are number of ways to connect with others in the school community and the P&C. The P&C communications are operated separately from the school - refer to our constitution - accordingly the website and other communications channels described here are run by the P&C and not by the SSC Balmain Campus or its staff.
This summary provides information on each of the groups and mailing lists, how and why you might want to join some or all of them, and how to unsubscribe from the mailing list.
Email address for the P&C
To contact the P&C with ideas, suggestions, requests or offers of help, please email the executive team at pandcsscbalmain@gmail.com
Note: If you need to contact the school for any reason (for example, regarding your child's absence from school), please email
balmain-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au . Emails to the P&C are not received by the school’s administration staff.
P&C Mailing Lists
When you enrol your child at SSC Balmain, you have the option of completing a form in the Welcome Pack which is a request to be included on the P&C mailing list. This list, which is separate from the school’s mailing list, (currently based on a locked-down Google group) is usually used only by the P&C team to send information about P&C meetings & agendas, meeting minutes, and occasionally extra notices about events or requests for assistance.
When you want to leave the list, please unsubscribe yourself by sending an email to pandcsscbalmain+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com
from the email address you want to unsubscribe.

Other - Social Media Chat Groups by Year
These groups are the place to be to connect with others whose child/children are in the same year or class as your own. Sometimes the groups are started by P&C team members, sometimes not. Either way, they are an inclusive, informal space to chat and to ask questions, especially about all those things that are particularly relevant to your child’s year group. Do all Year 7’s go to the sports carnival? When is 8P’s HSIE assignment due? Where is the link to order the Year 10 jacket? There is usually someone in the group who has “been there, done that” and can help with answers to those niggling queries. The groups also offer an opportunity to organise your own social events with other parents.
