Curated Collections of Texts
Each unit culminates with a Curated Collection of Texts, which allow students to choose within a particular area of interest and to connect issues to a common value. Afterward, students adapt the central ideas that they garnered from their inquiry into their own original multimodal compositions. This approach to offering an independent compositional voice was inspired by a workshop I attended at the 2013 NCTE Annual Convention called "Connecting Missouri's Humanities."
