Mondays (M4M5M6), NTHU, 物504 (Physics Building Room 504)
Classes are on Mondays 11:10-12:00, 13:20-14:10 and 14:20-15:10 at 物504 (Physics Building Room 504)
This course is the continuation of Introduction to Particle Physics I. In the first part we have introduced basic Quantum Electrodynamics as the simplest realistic example of a Quantum Field Theory. In the second part we will focus on two main subjects: I) Spontaneous Symmetry Breaking and the Higgs mechanism and II) basic principles of loop calculations and renormalisation.
The students are recommended to have taken either Introduction to Particle Physics I or to have some knowledge of basic Quantum Electrodynamics.
