The Coordinator’s Corner
With the advent of a new school year many of us experience a mixed bag of emotions, but somehow everything usually seems to fall into place and learning takes its course. Best wishes to you for a successful and rewarding year!
I know it is early but consider attending Winter Leadership happening at the Huron Library on March 6, 2027, beginning at 12:30 Central Time. Please save the date for this special event. This past summer we held Summer Leadership at this Library, and it was great to watch all the young children at the library for a summer reading program.
The SDLA Grant program strives to provide supplemental funding to enhance local council activities as the members work to provide excitement, rewards, and challenges that are instrumental in developing the life-long love of reading in those young people. Submit your grant application by October 1.
I can’t say “NO”
When you cannot say "NO” to any project,
When your life is full of projects, either big or small,
When you have too many things to finish TODAY,
When you think you are multitasking and have started too many projects, and have not finished anything, remember:
Begin by organizing each project by due dates. Complete the first project, and then begin with the others. Always remember to complete the first task before beginning the next.
I heard this message many years ago when I attended an ILA Leadership meeting in Atlanta. Her final comment was, ”First things first ….and last things not at all.”
