A Message from Our President

Greetings,

I hope this message finds you all excited for another school year! I want to thank each and every one of you for all of your hard work and dedication to the South Dakota Reading Council.

With a new year comes new changes, please note the new contest deadlines on the contest page. Most contests are due at the Winter Leadership meeting. Please be sure to read the newsletter and check the website often for updates. Also, be sure to apply for the $300 grant, this is a great opportunity for your local council to get some money for projects.

Make it a priority this year to increase membership in our local and state councils. Be a cheerleader for Literacy at the local level. Invite someone new to tag along with you to a meeting. Be an inspiration to your students and fellow staff members. Take time to laugh and have fun with your students and show them by example how FUN Reading can be! Make everyday a day that is filled with Literacy opportunities. Make Literacy come alive through your words and actions.
