Ultracold  Atoms  and  Molecules  Laboratory  @ TIFR Mumbai

Welcome...

We are setting up a brand new laboratory. We are interested in investigating the physics and chemistry of atoms, ions and molecules at ultralow temperatures. The work centers around cooling and trapping of atoms, ions and molecules in order to study cold collisions and interactions at low temperatures. At these ultralow temperatures, quantum mechanical effects become important and the long interrogation times, precise quantum-state preparation and control offered in ultracold trapped systems enable a variety research directions that include precision measurements, quantum chemistry and quantum simulation.
