Sourav completed his BSc degree in Physics from Presidency College, University of Calcutta, in 2005. He spent two years at the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences to obtain his MSc degree before joining Purdue University as a PhD student in 2007. He returned to India in 2013 for his post-doctoral work and eventually joined TIFR Mumbai in 2018 to start a new laboratory. [Short CV]

Satyabrata Baidya

Satyabrata joined the group from August 2022. He completed his Master of Science degree in Physics from University of Calcutta, in 2021. He is working on ion trapping and ion-atom collisions.

Rahul Mohanty

Phd Student (2021 batch)

Rahul joined the group from August 2022. He completed his Master of Science degree from OUAT Bhubaneswar, in 2018. He is working on optical tweezers.

Hrdya Joshi

Visiting PG Student Intern

Hrdya joined the group from November 2025. He completed his BSc from University of Groningen, Netherlands. He is working on laser control electronics.

Integrated PhD Student (2018 batch). Bubai worked in the group from July 2019 to December 2025. His PhD thesis focussed on high resolution Doppler-free two-photon spectroscopy of cesium and on simultaneous cooling/trapping of cesium and lithium atoms.
