Jared Leising has taught English at Cascadia since the college opened in 2000, and this past year he’s been coteaching a weekly creative writing class for women at the King County Jail.

Brent Schaeffer’s poetry has appeared in Poet Lore, Green Mountains Review, and New Mexico Poetry Review, and he was formerly poetry editor for Willow Springs and Squaw Valley Review. Brent lives in Seattle.

Natalie Serianni’s writing and poetry has been featured in ParentMap, Crosscurrents, Yours Truly, and other literary journals. Her work explores the intersection of grief, gratitude, and motherhood.

Louise Spiegler loves teaching history and humanities. She is the author of The Jewel and the Key and The Amethyst Road, a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age and Andre Norton award finalist.

Sarah Zale grew up white believing in the power of poetry to heal the world. (2013, Aquarius Press, Living Detroit Series) highlights the history of Detroit and celebrates its rebuilding.
