August 17, 2017 — Five Willows Literary Review

Five Willows Literary Review publishes literary arts in the spirit of Mr. Five Willows, a poor poet who was fond of wine. This poet, Tao Yuan-Ming (365–427), had five willow trees surrounding his house. The journal, founded in Seattle in 2013, is a companion website for Koon Woon’s Goldfish Press.

Sandra Noel works as an illustrator and graphic designer. Her poetry has appeared in Barnwood International Poetry Magazine, ProtestPoems, Buddhist Poetry Review, Outside In Literary and Travel Magazine, Elohi Gadugi Journal, and Pontoon, and in the chapbooks The Gypsy in my Kitchen (Haunted Waters Press, 2015) and Into the Green (Finishing Line Press, 2017).

Bethany Reid’s book Sparrow won the 2012 Gell Poetry Prize. Other publications include Clackamas River Review, Escape into Life, Cheat River Review, Right Hand Pointing, Cairn, Santa Clara Review, Clementine Unbound, Calyx, and World Peace Poets, which she also coedited. She lives in Edmonds, Washington, and blogs at www.BethanyAReid.com.

Margaret Roncone’s work has appeared in Chrysanthemum, the Barnwood International Poetry Magazine, Avocet, and Poets Against War. She curated an open-mic reading in Seattle for ten years and also facilitated a poetry series at Chief Seattle Club. She lives on Vashon island where frequent forest walks and bus rides keep her inspired.

Koon Woon is editor and publisher of Goldfish Press and Five Willows Literary Review. His poetry and short fiction have appeared in dozens of journals and anthologies internationally. He has won the Pen Oakland Award and an American Book Award for his two volumes of poetry from Kaya Press.
