April 15, 2021 — Allow the Light: Tribute Reading for Jack McCarthy

Allow the Light is a posthumous collection of unpublished poetry by Jack McCarthy from Write Bloody Publishing (2020) with several essays from writers and poets who were friends with or were mentored by Jack. The book includes a foreword from his widow Carol. As part of the reading several contributors will read their essays and a poem or two by Jack McCarthy. Mary Eliza Crane lives in the Cascade foothills and cohosts Duvall Poetry. Gazoobi Tales has published two of her poetry books.


Michael G. Hickey served as Seattle’s eighth Poet Populist and has published three books of poetry and prose, and two novels.


David D. Horowitz is a Seattle poet and publisher who runs Rose Alley Press, publishing books featuring Northwest formal poetry.


Christopher J. Jarmick owns BookTree in Kirkland, Washington. MoonPath Press published his poetry collection, Not Aloud, in 2015. Visit www.chrisjarmick.com.

Hope Jordan lives in New Hampshire, where she was the state’s first official poetry slam master. She has an MFA from UMass Boston, and her chapbook is The Day She Decided to Feed Crows. [not able to attend]


James Rodgers lives in Pacific, Washington. In 2018, MoonPath Press published his poetry book, They Were Called Records, Kids.


Neil Scott is a broadcast journalist, poet, and health-care advocate with a career in radio and television. He hosts the Recovery Coast to Coast program from Seattle.


Roy R. Seitz hosts the monthly Poetry for the People gathering in Eugene, Oregon. His poetry collection, Right Here Right Now, reflects his experiences as a sniper in the Vietnam War.
