Jack McCarthy is a retired working guy from Boston. He’s been in jail, but he can explain. He has been on two national slam teams and has brought out three books of poetry and a CD. His next chapbook is in the works with Pudding House. His work appears in several prestigious anthologies such as The Complete Idiot's Guide to Slam Poetry. He won the haiku championship at the Individual World Poetry Slam in Vancouver last month. The Boston Globe once said, “In the poetry world, he's a rock star.” If you Google Jack McCarthy, his website is the first thing that comes up.
