Julie Robinett, of Everett, Washington, encountered three poems in late 2011 that resonated with her so much that she decided to memorize a poem each week in 2012. Now she reads her own poetry at numerous local open mics—she’s easy to spot, in her white hat! Her work has appeared in the anthologies I Sing the Salmon Home and Examined Life. A broom she recently stood up in a friend’s living room remained upright for nineteen days.
