Partner Testimonials

Read what our non-profit partners have said about working with SONAM:

"We cannot thank you all enough for your love and support. The concert was totally amazing and beautiful. Your music is truly healing for the body, soul and spirit. We could have listened to you all sing all night long. We are so very grateful for the blessings of having an opportunity to experience your music, meet you all and for the amazing amount of donations that you all generated on our charity's behalf. We thank you with all of our hearts."

--Dr. Terry Morris, Executive Director and Founder, Vets to Vets United

"When I attended the SONAM concert with GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh, I was joyfully surprised by the spirit and sound of the music. I found the music so moving and magical. As I enjoyed the performance, I also was watchful of how much the music seems to inspire our friends. I look forward to seeing another performance in the future."

--Cindy Riley, Raleigh Program Coordinator at Gigi's Playhouse

"We were delighted to be the beneficiary of a SONAM concert in the spring of 2019.  The concert itself was beautiful and included music that adults as well as our preschool children enjoyed. It was a lovely combination of music, community and support. The funds we received were the cherry on top!

--Leigh Bordley, Executive Director of LEAP

"SONAM has participated in several concerts at Judea Reform Congregation supporting the amazing work of Church World Service Durham. Through their beautiful music, SONAM has supported initiatives that enable refugees to build a foundation for a successful life here in Durham and the United States."

--Marian Abernathy, Judea Reform Congregation

"PORCH Chapel Hill-Carrboro was honored to be the nonprofit partner for the Sonam choral concert in November of 2018. It was a wonderful experience from the start of planning through the night of the concert.  We worked directly with them to advertise the concert in advance to our respective followers.  While we had a healthy group of attendees, the majority of the audience were Sonam fans, as they have an extensive group of generous supporters.  The concert itself was fantastic.  I have attended several of their concerts since then and the recipe is always the same: moving choral music that is accessible to all, inspiring direction and narration by the director, Allan Friedman, and a rich sense of community as SONAM brings folks together, using music as a vehicle to raise money and awareness for a local cause."

--Debbie Horwitz, Director of PORCH Chapel Hill-Carrboro

"The Refugee Support Center was most fortunate to receive funds from a SONAM performance. The program was tailored to bring attention to refugees through the lyrics, and the performance was very moving. While we assisted with promotions, those who follow SONAM filled the auditorium and were quite generous donors who learned more about refugees in their community. What a gift we received!"

--Henry Lister, Community Outreach Facilitator for the Refugee Support Center in Carrboro

"Wow. Just wow. What an absolutely INCREDIBLE night. First of all, SONAM is amazing! What a treasure we have here in Durham—how did I never know before?!? THANK YOU for bringing Book Harvest into your family and sharing your incredible talent and work with us.

And thank you for providing such an amazing fundraising opportunity for us! We could not be more grateful."

--Daniele Berman, Communications and Events Manager for Book Harvest
