Many on-site wastewater systems require the assessment of the seasonally high water table. In undisturbed native soils, this can be determined by the observation of certain soil characteristics. In altered soils such as the coastal plain soils that have been artificially drained, this is much more difficult and generally require monitoring the soil water levels over an extended period of time.
Soil Horizons, can install automated data logging instruments to make these measurements and process them with regard to precipitation to obtain some water table values for on-site septic systems or for the hydrological assessment in jurisdictional wetland assessments.
