The Society for Economic Design is an international academic organization that aims to bring together scientists who work in the broad area of economic design.

The 13th Conference on Economic Design will be held in 2023 at the University of Girona in Spain and will be organized by Dolors Berga on June 15-17, 2023. The official call for papers will follow.



The 12th Conference on Economic Design was held at the University of Padua in Italy and was organized by Antonio Nicolo in 2022.

We are happy to announce that the 12th Conference on Economic Design organized by The Society for Economic Design (SfED) will be held in person in Padua (Italy) from 9th – 11th of June 2022.

The conference is hosted by the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua.


Our keynote speakers are:

Scott Duke Kominers (Harvard University)

Vasiliki Skreta (UT Austin, UCL and CEPR)

Olivier Tercieux (Paris School of Economics and CNRS)

The Society for Economic Design aims to advance the scientific discipline of design of economic and political institutions through a number of activities by creating a communication platform for the area practitioners. It aims to be the main interdisciplinary venue for scientists who work in the area of institutional design in various disciplines such as economics, political science, computer science, and operations research.
