Plasmonic photothermal phenomenon involves generation of highly confined heat through use of metallic nanoparticles and Electromagnetic radiation. The concept finds numerous applications including those in biomedical field like, plasmonic photothermal therapy for cancer, plasmonic sterilization, plasmonic photothermal enhanced drug delivery and treatment of atherosclerosis etc.
