About Sanjeev Soni

I am native of Himachal Pradesh, a scenic northern state of India in the lap of adventurous Himalayas. I completed my schooling in northern part of India (Govt. Senior Secondary School, Jawalamukhi and DAV College Kangra). I obtained professional degree from Southern part of India (Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from University of Madras, Chennai). 

I started my research carrier as Engineer-SC in western part of India (Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, Gujarat - An autonomous institute of Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India) and served from 1998-2005.

In 2005, I joined as Scientist in CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh and since then working in Biomedical Instrumentation field.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

• PhD (Engg.) from Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Rupnagar, INDIA.

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engg.) from University of Madras in April 1998.

• Selected for Masters in Engineering at University of Roorkee (presently IIT Roorkee) in 1998 and at IIT Delhi in 2005.

• Qualified GATE 1998.

• AICTE - Himachal Pradesh Govt. scholarship during B.E. (Aug. 1994- Apr. 1998) 

• Merit Certificate (37th State rank in Himachal Pradesh) for matriculation examination in 1992.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

• Sep. 1, 1998 - Aug. 14, 2005: Design & development of plasma processing systems at Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar (Gujarat). (An Autonomous Institute of Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India)

• Aug. 16, 2005 - Continuing: Biomedical Instrumentation area at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh. INDIA. (A constituent national research organisation of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Govt. of India)

• Head, Mechanical Design and Fab Facility at CSIR-CSIO.

• Convener PhD student’s Grievance Cell at CSIR-CSIO.
