At SMT 2025 Minneapolis, Improvisation/Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Groups will host a joint annual meeting that celebrates the 80th birthday year of Anthony Braxton. In this meeting, we have invited four 10-minute presentations on Anthony Braxton, his contemporaries, and analytical approaches to improvisation in contemporary concert music.
