Neighborhood News
The Board met to discuss a variety of items and approved the following.
First, to protect our neighborhood from those promoting scams like the people who came into Smithfield late last year purportedly selling magazines and intimidating some homeowners, a “No Soliciting” sign has been placed at our entrance. By posting this sign, individuals will be prohibited from selling door to door in Smithfield by the Town of Farragut and Knox County Code.
On a related note, if you feel threatened for any reason, please contact the Knox County’s Sheriff’s Department dispatch at:
865/215-2444
Secondly, the Regulations applicable to the Smithfield Covenants and Restrictions have been updated after being reviewed by the Attorney for the Association. That update has been posted on the neighborhood website.
Work on the pool house chimney and grill has been completed.
The American Flag at the neighborhood entrance has been replaced. The Flag at the pool will be replaced this Spring.
Fox Den has agreed to remove the limbs overhanging the pool area at the same time maintenance is undertaken on that golf course.
Thanks to all those who helped with the Christmas decorations. This is the Volunteer State!
REMINDER TO ALL SMITHFIELD NEIGHBORS:
The Smithfield Covenants and Restrictions outline a number of guidelines, including vehicle parking on our narrow streets.
All neighbors are reminded to comply with (Article X, p.24, #6): “Long-term and/or overnight on-street parking of household vehicles is prohibited. Vehicles that cannot be accommodated in garage space or driveway should be parked at the pool parking lot.”
Please be aware that this is particularly important at NIGHT, when emergency and/or police vehicles may need
to access our homes, as well as neighbors into their driveways.
