We cannot always give a sick child the attention they need and deserve when they are ill. If your child is too sick to go outside please keep him/her home as we go out every day. If they are not feeling up to the normal daily activities they are not well enough to be in the program. **It is in everyone's best interest that a sick child stays home. If a child has any of the symptoms listed below, they will not be permitted to attend child care until 12-24 hours after the last incidence of:
· fever over 101.5 degrees-must be fever free for 12 hours WITHOUT medication
· fever along with sore throat, rash vomiting earache, severe cough or irritability
- vomiting
· eye discharge –thick mucus or pus draining from the eye or pink eye(children may return 24 hours after the start of treatment)
· diarrhea – Watery, loose stools more than once in a 12 hour period, may return12 hours after last bout
· unexplained rash (child will not be allowed to come to Smarties until a medical exam has indicated it is not a communicable disease)
lice – children may return after successful treatment with all nits removed.
