SketchUp Locks when opening file

I have an issue when using sketchup pro 6. The license is kept on a server allowing up to two users at one time

to use the program.

When either of the users try to open a sketchup drawing file, sketchup runs the processor at 25% while it eats up memory up to 380MB, then

fluctuates between that and 100 all the while the program will not respond.

If i simply double click on an skp file, sketchup.exe shows up in task manager processes but does not show on the screen.

If i open sketchup, the program works ok until you go to File> Open and try to open an skp file. Then it says not responding for up to 15 mins. The average file size is 57MB and this issue has not occured before.

Now it is happening on two different computers, with two different user accounts, with many different skp files. I can not figure out what the issue could be.

Any suggestions?

Hi myndhead,

If the license file or the SketchUp file are part of a WAN, that could be the problem. If the SketchUp file is stored in a network location, I suggest saving a copy of the file locally, then copy and paste the file back to the network location when you're done. If the license file is on an off-site server, I suggest "moving" the license file to a server on your local area network:
