The first place to be introduced to the world of plugins is on the SketchUp site itself, with an introduction to Ruby Scripts.
extension warehouse SketchUp 2013 introduces a new online resource to find and manage plugins from inside SketchUp. More information on manually installing plugins on the SketchUp Sage.
In the early days, plugins were originally hosted on the SketchUp forum in forum threads. Most of that development moved to the SketchUcation Plugin Forum after Google bought SketchUp and wanted to move the Pro forums to Google Groups, which was not a very user-friendly format at the time. Due to the growth and need for plugin management, SketchUcation developed the PluginStore and the SketchUcation Tools extension to manage plugins.

Tips for Pro exporting: To get a clean, 3D export of true geometry (ie, true arcs), delete all faces before exporting and choose to export as 3D. The 2D export option will export edges as segments seen in SketchUp model. Using 2D Toolsalso makes clean geometry exports.

SketchUp Pro's LayOut program exports PDF.
SketchUp can export 2D PDFs natively in Windows.
Use CutePDF to 'print' a PDF using parallel Camera (Camera > Parallel Projection) and check "Use high accuracy HLR" setting in SketchUp's Print menu. Open the resulting vector PDF in Inkscape. Then Inkscape, an Open Source vector graphics editor, can save a DXF or SVG.

Relevant Model Refinement Plugins
Subdivide With a subdivide plugin, one can get a smooth, high-poly model with a bunch of itty-bitty faces from a low-poly, organic model in SketchUp. This is quite useful as low-poly models are often easier to work with in SketchUp, reserving the high-poly stuff for the 3D print so you do not go nuts sanding the printed product. After previewing (and finally sending the file to the printer,) press Undo to return to low-poly model for low-poly tweaking/saving, if desired. Note: SketchUp can have a problem using tools that create edges less than 1/16". To overcome this problem, temporarily scale up the model 10-1000x to model, then scale down when done.
