Hey Everyone,

I am new to sketchup and could use some help. I am trying to design a screwdriver and I want the round handle that you would grab to blend into a square handle. How do I do that and make it look like it is suppose to blend?

Thanks

I am having a hard time visualising what you are asking. Do you have an image?

A Ruby script that will automate this sort of profiling, called weave.rb, is being developed: http://forum.sketchup.com/showthread.php?t=41151 [dead link]. Until it is ready for the public, here are some of the methods you can use to make the desired transition.

you might be able to do it with the sandbox. Imagine the handle divided into 4 down the middle. Draw the quarter in the sandbox and then copy/rotate 3 times. I think its going to be a bit tricky but that is what I would try.

Ask away. That's what this forum is for. I learnt and continue to learn a lot here.

I am switching over to more self-designed work at night. By day I make very custom cabinets/displays, sculptures, and paintings. I operate this program as a natural extension to how I construct things.
