i have created a bar stool with a simple back on it. Is it possable now to give the seat section a egg shape look to it. If so what tool do i use.

Well, it depends. What shape is the seat now? If it's circular, you can use the scale tool to make it elliptical. For an egg shape, divide the round seat into halves, and scale each half separately to make it egg shaped. Then, hide the lines you used to divide it.

Or for the egg, you could create a sphere, then instead of dividing it in two, just turn on hidden geometry and select only the top 1/2. Then scale just the top half. That way and you won't need to hide anything.
