Software for presentation page layout/publishing
Notable, old forum thread introducing an innovative method of work.

Folks,
I'm generating great model "views" from Sketchup that I need to present to a group.
I'm looking for a software application that will let me layout a large page to be printed that will consist of one or more views (images) generated from Sketchup. I need to define a page title and a subtitle for each of the "views". For example, I want to put all elevation views on a single printed page. Borders would be great.
Simply printing directly from Sketchup isn't working for me in the context of creating a set of great, cohesive presentation boards with margins/titles/etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff.

Jeff,
Almost any modern layout program will do, InDesign is maybe the best, but not too cheap. There was a recent thread about using Canvas for a similar purpose, too. Illustrator and FreeHand also spring to mind. Cheaper options exist, but are often lacking in large paper sizes.
I have also used AutoCad:s Paper Space layouts for a similar purpose, especially when mixing ACAD and SU content.
A perseverant person might also do it in Photoshop, with layers
These were the first to spring in mind

I do that sort of thing in CorelDraw. This one is kind of plain, but the developer isn't picky about that--and this thing will change a dozen more times before it's all over, so I need to keep the presentation board as clean as possible
This presentation is 50" wide at full printed size.

The easiest and affordable is Microsoft Publisher.
Will import everything except PDF and will print large
format too.
Comes bundled with MS office or standalone.

You might want to give PhotoLine32 a try - shareware, works quite well, at least on a Mac. Also available for PC.
Happy hunting!
